DeepSource is a code quality and security platform that helps developers ship secure, high-quality code. We've recently launched AutoFix Spot, a CLI/API tool that fixes security issues in AI-generated code. We're a well-funded startup (~$8M raised, nearly profitable) with plans for additional funding in early 2026.

The Role

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our growing engineering team of 8-9 engineers (expanding to 13-14). This is a critical role created because our tech leads are getting pulled between IC work and management responsibilities. You'll be the bridge between our CEO and the engineering team, ensuring we execute our roadmap efficiently.

Split: 70-80% management, 20-30% technical

What You'll Do

• Conduct daily syncs with the CEO to align on priorities and roadmap
• Manage 8-9 engineers (potentially growing to 13-14) across Python, Go, Vue.js, and infrastructure
• Execute weekly and quarterly roadmaps using Linear
• Handle context-switching so ICs can focus deeply on their work
• Review code and understand technical tradeoffs without needing to be the deepest technical expert
• Coordinate sprint management and team execution
• Provide early visibility on blockers and risks
• Build processes that help the team ship 70% of quarterly commitments consistently

What We're Looking For

• 6-9 years of software engineering experience
• 1-2 years in engineering management
• Strong people and communication skills (more important than deep technical expertise)
• Experience with modern tech stacks (Python, Go, Kubernetes preferred)
• Ability to review code and understand architectural decisions
• Age-appropriate for a young team (most engineers in their 20s)
• Located in or willing to relocate to Bangalore
