India Site Lead / Director of Engineering

Salary: $100K - $200K USD (based on experience)

About the Role

We're establishing our India engineering hub in Gurgaon and seeking an exceptional Site Lead/Director of
Engineering to build and scale our engineering operations. You'll be responsible for setting up the office, hiring
top talent, and driving technical excellence while working closely with our US team.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Building: Establish and scale the India engineering team from ground up
• Technical Leadership: Drive architecture decisions and technical strategy for AI/ML systems
• Operations: Set up Gurgaon office operations and engineering processes
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with US-based leadership and product teams
• Hands-on Engineering: Remain technically involved while scaling the team
• Talent Pipeline: Build strong engineering hiring and retention practices

Technical Requirements

• 10+ years of professional engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership roles
• Deep expertise in our core tech stack: Python, TypeScript, Rust/Go
• Strong background in AI/ML systems and real-time processing
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and scaling systems
• Understanding of data synchronization across distributed systems
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization

Leadership Requirements

• Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams (20+ engineers)
• Experience establishing engineering operations in new locations/offices
• Strong technical vision combined with execution excellence
• Ability to attract and retain top engineering talent
• Experience working with distributed teams across time zones

• Strong technical depth but equally strong people management skills
• Experience with B2B SaaS products preferred
